Over the past two months, Pure have been involved in another two Sex & Relationships Values days at different Grace Academy schools.
We have a great relationship with the Grace Academy network, and have been into their campuses in Darlaston, Solihull and Coventry numerous times over the past three years.
We were working with Year 10 once again, in Coventry in early May and then Solihull this past week, and we got to give both groups some really practical input and education. Our performance of Hold Me was the starting point of the day, and our workshops then formed part of each student’s journey through various topics.
Our workshop covers the characteristics of a healthy relationship, how to prevent/avoid abusive relationships, statistics and support around the issue of sexual assault, discussions on media influences & pornography, and sexual health information on contraception, STIs and pregnancy.
We feel like in many ways we are ahead of the curve in offering such a thorough relational focus alongside high-level health input, which we have been doing for several years. OFSTED have made a point recently of highlighting the need for more effective relationship education at secondary level.
We’re always thankful to be a part of these days and to continue our ongoing relationship with each Grace Academy.
